Dedicated servers would be enough for me to cough up €10 per month. Just that. It’s the absolute bare minimum. Peer-to-peer networking was the main reason their online had been free all along as it doesn’t cost them anything - the difference is now we’re paying for it.
Maybe on PC you use discord, but nobody i know on PlayStation or Xbox uses Discord for in game com's or game invites, we use the built in party system as its there and its easy to use. Our Destiny clan has a Discord server but as we are mainly Playstaion its used mainly for posting offensive pictures and memes that would get you banned on psn.

We still have a lot of ps4 users too and discord doesn't work well on ps4, even on PS5 it requires you to jump through hoops and manage your chats via the discord app on your phone. Why would we do that when theirs a really decent voice chat party system built into psn already that takes you two button presses to join.

Would genuinely love to see who these Xbox and PS gamers are who use Discord instead of the inbuilt solutions they readily have access to.

The only time I've ever seen people use discord on psn is in cross platform play for a unified voice coms solution. In general though its very rare that we use it, having to invite people to a server and piss about getting them to create a discord account is not usually worth the effort.

While I prefer Discord to XBL Party chat as it's got far better noise suppression/quality, I do only tend to use it when I'm playing cross play on Xbox with PC Gaming mates because XBL Parties are so easy to set up and good enough if it's just Xbox users I'm playing with.

Metroid Prime 4 was announced for Nintendo Switch six years ago, in 2017.  Two years later, in 2019, it was revealed that the game restarted development. Since 2019, it’s been crickets, leaving Nintendo fans confused and worried about the game. However, reports and rumors state the title is still in development, and now a new […]

The vaguest of leaks that says Metroid Prime 4 looks amazing (presuming here that it's for Switch 2 at this point) and has large areas

In Cologne last month, Nintendo's public Gamescom showfloor booth let you play Pikmin 4 and Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. …

Apparently Nintendo demoed Nintendo Switch 2 to developers at Gamescom using The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to showcase how well the Wii U title can run on the new hardware.

The UE5 Matrix demo was also showcased but it seems very light on information as to the details of the demo to back up claims it looked as good as if it were running on a PS5

Wonder if the analogue sticks will still be awful.

But the last DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is due in a couple of weeks, thus ending any further need for Nintendo.

We all know that Nintendo aren't going to give up on being able to re-rinse and re-package Switch games for Switch 2 at £40-£60 RRP a pop without a fight!

I'm not sure it will work this time, there's already talk of it being Backwards compatible with switch, It's not like Nintendo are strangers to BC Wii had Gamecube and Wiiu had Wii. i think the majority of users aren't going to buy super Mario Odyssey again at 60fps and 4k, and Mario kart already runs at 60fps, so a 4k boost would be its only selling point.
