Lust for Life is also very good - but a very different album. Much more upbeat generally and not quite up there with the Idiot (few albums are) but still a classic.

Amazing that both these albums were co-written and produced by Bowie, who also released Low and Heroes in the same year!

Late reply or what. Lust for Life is a great album, yeah. It's the only other solo Iggy album I've got, and it doesn't get as much play as the Idiot it has to be said

I didn't realise Bowie did both Heroes and Low the same year! You can hear his influence so clearly in The Idiot though. Iggy almost sounds like Bowie on half the tracks.

Tried to listen to the new Metallica album but its crap imo. They have tried to resurrect their thrash days and have failed totally.

Been listening to Scars On Broadway album today and very much getting into it. It certainly sounds more like System Of A Down than Serj Tankian's Elect The Dead (which I like about half of). The two singles are great and the insane hippy vibe he has going on amuses me, but its a shame when immature lyrics about sucking cock arise. These shock tactics smack of trying too hard to me. Loving most of the album though despite the school boy nonsense.
