I still reckon it will be a redesigned Switch that streams to the TV wirelessly.

I think this line is a good indication that the next machine will not be enormously divergent from the current one though.

There's some bits in there that seem to suggest what has been obvious for a long while to those not waiting for a new model at every Direct, that as long as they can shift the numbers they are doing they won't pull the trigger on a new system. The software is shifting in way to big a volume to hit reset on.

That also opens the door for WiiU-like dual screen activity, which I don’t think they’re crazy enough to go anywhere near again (for a multitude of good reasons). No one gets excited by wireless streaming, everybody wants stuff in 4K/60.

The format is fine, even the graphics are fine, they just need to somehow push more pixels.

If they were able to knock out a sleeker looking revision of the Switch 1 they could probably buy themselves a few more years. Switch 1 is still more than powerful enough for what sells on it

Basically... though I dare say lighter, smaller and with the same design language as the current Switch.

At least it's more confirmation of it's existence and with the recent information about accounts being cross compatible you'd hope it'll be the same with software.
