One thing I've seen listed in many reviews is how underused

Hawkeye is, personally I don't mind. Much as I like Renner I find Hawkeye and Widow to be okay supporting hero's but not strong enough to support their own narrative so for me he got plenty screentime and I don't want a solo film now for either

Its not really a spoiler for THIS Avengers movie rather than it is for the NEXT movie if you really didnt want to know who the next villan was going to be.

Makes me larf with all the n008s going to FB and twiiter asking everyone who the hell the guy was in the first place LOL

QC, I hadn't seen Thor. Don't think you really need to have but I plan to watch it after seeing Avengers.

I forgot to say, I wish Stan Lee would stop doing cameos! It was interesting the first time but now it's just sad.

Talking about the lols the audience at the screening I attended laughed at the same points. I was the only one laughing at some of Iron Man/Stark's quips though. Is it because he comes across as too arrogant? I think he's hilarious.

I'll PM you if I can't get my hands on them in the short-term.

I'm really pleased you loved it so much, as you were really hoping you would.
          Aw Shucks
Lol I don't think I'm quite that good

No worries buddy if you can't the offers there.

Yeah so am I, it really is the best film I've seen in a long time, it just ticks so many boxes.
Going again this weekend with some other friends & it will be the first time I've seen a film in the Cinema more than once since Shaun of the Dead.

Can't see anything coming close to toppling this from my top spot for a long long time.

OK, so I watched Captain America last night and I'm hoping to take down Thor tonight.

I became a little obsessed with the Red Skull's teeth. The dude was pretty messed up, facially, but he had beautiful white teeth. I mean, if my face had been melted off, I'd probably let my teeth brushing slide.

Maybe he likes that minty-fresh feeling or facial disfigurement via rogue Nazi experiment is no excuse for poor dental hygiene.

I did enjoy it though and thought the wimpy Steve was very convincing. I was pleased the majority of the film was based in the past. I loved the design of the Hydra technology, but I think I'd have liked it more if it was less modern-looking, maybe a hint of steampunk-style?

I did not expect this film to be so utterly entertaining, completely exceeded my exepectations! I admit my expectations were low (Iron Man 2 type mess with too many characters mixed with Transformers 2 style "can't see anything" action), but after the slow start it pretty much didn't put a foot wrong for the last 90 minutes. One of the most enjoyable films I've seen in ages.

Do you think they cut a bit out towards the end...?

Near the start Iron and Thor battled and Iron's suit gets charged to 3-400% to make him super powerful. Later, on his return to New York you can see Iron's suit occasionally cutting out. Later still, the computer tells him several times he doesn't have enough power and warns it was a "one way trip" because he wouldn't be able to turn.....do you think they cut a scene where he gets super-charged again? I don't follow the comics at all by the way, no idea if he does actually get super-charged but that's what it looked like

I'm watching this at the Imax in 3D on Saturday night; back row, dead center.

So, expect my damning two-liner review shortly afterwards.

He's wearing a different suit at the end, it's the scene where Loki throughs Stark off the tower and the new Mark VII suit encases him as he falls so there's only normal power at that point

I wondered that too, I wondered if Thor was gonna

Hit him with lightning to help him, thus showing they were friendly

lol Bash thought it was Average which means its an awesome film

mr comics never likes the celluloid versions, I'm sorry you seem to hate everything and don't really know what you expect considering the films you've already slated as crap were actually loved by the masses

anyway saw it today and its just tremendous and dont understand why people where worried

Loved the hulk humour near the end, at two points i proper lol'd - both involved asgard demi-gods and agree with liking the hulk for the first time in movie form

thought hawkeye had enough time on screen and all the characters were great

Bash reminds me of my dad... Nothing he watches is ever good enough for him. Of course my dads a grumpy old man, I'm not sure what Bash's excuse is .

Part of me thinks he's just taking the piss to be honest.

I wouldnt really call myself Mr comics, I havent bought a comic in over 5 years. Also saying something is average does not mean I hate it or said it was crap. Dont put words in my mouth please. The film had probably 2 decent moments in the end

Ruffulo hulking out the second time saying "Im always angry and smashing the living mother ship thingy and Loki getting the retina scan off that German dude, although I wished it could've been more graphic like a Verhoeven special.

but the threat and baddies were non-existant and these movies live and die by how much the heros get tested.

I hope Thanos will kick arse in Avengers 2 but he really should have been in this movie as the final major threat. We've already had Loki crying like a baby in Thor and we just got him rehashed again with his daddy/envy/inferiority issues only this time with a pants army with no personality other than they look like robotic lizards and snarl a lot. And why did all the Chitari just die once Stark nuked them all? That was pure gay. How many times are we gonna see American cities get smashed up, it was really boring and nothing original. I suppose we have Bay'formers to thank for that.

I blame the Disney influence, yes they can inject more cash into the budgets but they really are just kids movies and not adult enough for my liking. I appreciate the comics are no better which is partially why I no longer collect.

Yes, Hulk sucker punching Thor was a LOL moment but so out of place and character.

Also, why did Banner attack Widow like he was out of control and then the 2nd time he was kool and on the team, like all of a sudden Banner had him under control? I really think Whedon missed a trick and I would've loved it if Hulk picked up Thors Hammer out of sheer rage like he does in the Avengers animted movie. It also would've been extra kool if he was the one to smash through the Terrasect sheild like he broke through Onslaughts once impenetrable armour.

The best thing to come out of this is Ruffulo, he's the best Banner yet and completely surprised me. I thought he was a bad choice initaly when cast but hold my hands up and say the boy done good. There probably shouldnt be a seperate Hulk movie, I think the dynamics are cooler in a team dynamic and fighting the good fight rather than always the misunderstood beast under constant attack from Gen Thunderbol Ross.

Surely they'll use The Leader who appeared at the end of the Ed Norton film and team him up with Thanos in the 2nd Avengers movie? That could be decent

Oh, and surely Coulson is not dead and really was a LMD, as Fury said "it was the push they needed"

. I swear the actor has signed like a 4 movie deal on top of these flicks?

@Rmoxon, dont get me started with you. You have the worst taste in films EVER! How old is your dad? Im 31, I know Im hard to please but I just reckon you lot just love any old film thats gets put on the screen and is hyped to infinity.

Seriously guys, just watch Chronicle, its criminally underrated but far more original and entertaing

                            AND better acted!

                            Another annoyance

Why the **** wasnt War machine in this? Some double team Iron man shizznit could've potentially taken the action up a couple of notches and if the "threat" was really about saving the world (or was it just saving Manhatten?) then surely Rhodey would've been along for the ride? At the very least they could've made up some shizznit about he being away on a mission to "liberate" some middle eastern country or something? Another missed opportunity.

                              My dad is 70.

We love any old film? Well i cant speak for all the other people that loved the Avengers, but I can speak for myself in saying it is one of the finest blockbusters... actually scratch that, its simply one of the best films ever made. It did absolubtkey everything right and blew me away from the first second to the last.

Chronicle is a tiny insignificant blip in the world of cinema, the Avengers will go down as one of the greatest films ever made (becuase it is), in fact you only have to look about online at peoples opinions to see that its already well on its way to reaching the kind of reveered status that many films like it take years to achieve.

Oh well, at least you liked 21 Jump Street.

I also never said that you thinking a movie was average made it crap in your opinion, so don't put words in my mouth

The crap comment was more at the marvel thread where you more or less called the people who liked recent super hero movies including Thor, morons and the only film that came out well was xmen first class.

So still unsure what you want out of these films unless you just like to go against popular opinion

But I went to see chronicle in the cinema and loved it whereas my partner hated it and since watched it again (directors cut) and I still love it and have the play.com steel book on order

Just loved avengers and it's my favourite super hero movie so far but I generally love everything Joss whedon has done and still want to see cabin in the woods
